Heat-resistant and heat-proof steel

Heat-resistant steel is a material designed for use in extreme temperature conditions, which retains its properties at temperatures ranging from 850 to as high as 1150°C. Unlike standard alloys, it does not lose its strength or structural stability when exposed to prolonged heat. It owes its resistance to a high content of chromium (ranging from a few to as much as 30%), nickel and additives such as silicon, aluminium and molybdenum. These elements form a protective oxide layer on the metal’s surface, which effectively inhibits oxidation and gas corrosion.

Heat-resistant steel, on the other hand, is a group of materials adapted for carrying mechanical loads at elevated temperatures. Its primary advantage is resistance to creep – slow, permanent deformation that can occur with prolonged exposure to heat and stress. Thanks to enrichment with tungsten, vanadium, or cobalt, steel components made from this material are suitable wherever both thermal and mechanical strength are required.

Our offer includes a diverse range of heat-resistant and refractory steel products. We offer sheets in standard sizes (1000 x 2000, 1250 x 2500, 1500 x 3000 mm) and thicknesses from 0.8 to 60 mm, made from grades such as 1.4713, 1.4742, 1.4762, 1.4828, 1.4841, 1.4878, 2.4816 and 2.4851. The heat resistance of individual grades ranges from 800°C to 1150°C, allowing for precise material selection to suit operating conditions.

We also have a wide range of long products: round bars (from 5 to 350 mm), square bars (from 6 to 80 mm), hexagonal bars (from 41 to 100 mm) and flat bars in dimensions from 10 x 3 to 200 x 40 mm. This is complemented by welded and seamless pipes with diameters from 4.0 x 0.5 to 406.4 x 12.70 mm, square and rectangular profiles, and complete fittings – elbows, flanges, tees, reducers and end caps.

Steel elements made from heat-resistant and high-temperature steel are primarily used in the energy, chemical, petrochemical, automotive, and aerospace industries. They are utilised in the construction of industrial furnaces, combustion chambers, heat exchangers, steam boilers, and pipelines for transporting hot media. Rods and flat bars, on the other hand, are used for the production of machine parts and structural components exposed to cyclic temperature changes. High-temperature steel is also suitable for manufacturing turbines, rotor shafts, and pressure equipment.
